Tips on 3 Types of Direct Sunlight Garden Flowers
If your yard gets direct sunlight, you’ll want to garden plants that thrive in the sunlight. A sun loving yard gets full sun all day or at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight a day. There are 3 types of sun loving flowers and those are annuals, perennials and vines.
The first are annuals. These bloom nonstop for an entire season. Plant them in pots, the ground or window boxes. Use sphagnum peat moss when planting annuals. it traps the moisture in the soil. Some types of annuals are petunias and geraniums.
The second type are perennials. These are a great cost effective way to garden. They bloom once a season, but come back year after year. Many develop from their native form in the dry heat. Some types are cone flower, black eyed Susans and coreopsis.
